"The better team won." That's all any Cougar could say as they trudged off the field after falling 10-0 in the fourth inning of the Quarter Finals to Beal City. Only two wins away from a return to the State Finals, it was disappointing to any All Saints fan to see the Cougars fall so close to reaching their goal. But only congratulations are in order for this team.

The Cougars battled hard throughout their season, racking up an impressive record along the way. Though All Saints bowed out to Beal City in the Quarter Finals, the Cougars managed to defend their past years district and regional titles, and, despite the final score, they played admirably against the Beal City Aggies.

For two innings the Cougars were locked in a scoreless tie with the Aggies. The Cougars looked pretty good during those two innings. Adam Pijaszek #6 hit a triple, and Thomas Villano #18 pulled off a fantastic catch were some of the Cougars notable feats. Unfortunately everything began to fall apart in the third inning.

A single from the Aggies Bleise #28 brought in the first Aggie run. Another Aggie hit equaled another Aggie run. The Aggies scored one more run off a double from Sharror #24 before their momentum was momentarily silenced.

Three consecutive hits in the next inning brought in another run for Beal City and brought about a change for All Saints. Head coach Mike Regulski switched his pitchers, sending Matt Mikolajczak to the mound. Another double, and then a home run from Bleise put Beal City up 10-0 before the Cougars managed to finally end their scoring spree.

The Cougars went up to bat and managed to advance Justin Gielda #4 to second base, before their hope of putting off the mercy rule ended with two strikeouts and a catch at second base.

The Cougars are saying goodbye to eight seniors this year who will no doubt be missed. But with many upcoming stars, and returning veterans from last years state championship year filling in next years roster; the All Saints Cougars will definitely continue to be a strong contender for the state title every year.
