Lions Club topped off an amazing regular season Tuesday night with another decisive win; this time to win the South End Little League Championship title. The juggernaut Lions Club team, however, had some trouble finding their groove in the first few innings against St. Hyacinths.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning. It was Lions Club that first broke the 0-0 deadlock. Alex #15 for Lions Club hit a single that was mishandled; and off of the error, Alex managed to round the bases to give his team a 1-0 lead. But Lions Club was just getting warmed up. Lions Club went up 2-0 after a single from Brendan #7 drove in Shawn #20. Lions Club scored one more run when Parker #8 scored off a hit from Kody #9 that was again mishandled by St. Hy's fielders for an error.

St. Hyacinths came close to tying Lions Club in the top of the fifth, but came just one run short. Justin #3 crossed the plate on a huge triple from Benny #21. Benny also scored, one batter later, off a single from Chase #9. Though still down by one run, St. Hy's had narrowed their deficit to 3-2.
Unfortunately for St. Hyacinths, their momentum was answered with an offensive surge from Lions Clubs' hitters. Five hits, and a handful of stolen bases resulted in six more Lions Club runs. Finally St. Hy's pitcher, was able to stop Lions Clubs' rally with two timely strikeouts.

Down 9-2, St. Hyacinths needed hits badly in the top of the sixth. Unfortunately for them, their desperation was met with merciless pitching from the mound and St. Hy's was defeated after suffering three consecutive strikeouts.
