John S. Lore of Bay City
President and CEO of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance

Great Lakes Bay Region, MI - John S. Lore of Bay City has been named to the newly created position of President and CEO of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, effective August 1, according to current board of directors President Michael D. Seward.

"The mission of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance has grown and gained support from local leaders," said Seward. "It is exactly the right time to bring a talent like John's on board. His experience in bringing organizations and people together will serve our region well. We're fortunate to have him."

The Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance is a collaborative effort of business and community leaders from Saginaw, Bay City, Midland Counties and surrounding areas. Its aim is to promote economic growth and community vitality through cooperation across many sectors and organizations: business, industry, government, health care, labor, tourism and education.

Operated through a volunteer board representing broad community and business interests, the executive leadership of the Alliance has been a rotation of the area's chamber of commerce executives, Seward of the Bay Area Chamber, Sid Allen from the Midland Area Chamber and Bob VanDeventer of the Saginaw County Chamber. Sheril Tarrant serves as program director.

"The opportunity to work with leaders who want to invest in the future of our region in these challenging times is inspiring," said Lore. "Our local communities have distinctly defining strengths. We will build on those and promote them collectively to encourage growth and foster pride in the Great Lakes Bay Region."

Lore has had numerous leadership positions in health care, education, and public/private partnerships and fund development. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and consultant for Detroit Medical Center.
