It is often said that chicken soup is good for what ails you. For John Glenn, it was a homecoming crowd, lots of determination and senior leadership. This mixture resulted in a 45-6 defeat of visiting Tawas.

The Bobcats got the evening off right on their first possession. Going for it on fourth and inches, senior quarterback Jordan Schumann broke through the Braves line and bolted 64 yards for a touchdown. Flues kick made it 7-0.

Tawas looked to respond with a drive of their own. After a nice return put them on their own 46 yard line, they ran it down to the Bobcat nine. But a fumble was recovered by Brad Fournier stopping the Brave drive.

Glenn went on a long drive of their own reaching the Tawas 31 before fumbling the ball back to Tawas. The Braves move the ball down to Glenn's 36 before the Bobcat defense stiffened to stop the drive. Using their versatile rushing attack, the Bobcats drove right back with Schumann capping off a 14 play drive with a 6 yard run and a 14-0 lead.

Tawas was able to put their lone points on the board with a 62 yard drive of their own. Using a combination of fullback Matt Compau and Tim Schmidt, the Braves moved the ball to the 8 before Schmidt capped off the drive with an eight yard run. When the two point conversion failed, the Bobcats entered halftime with a 14-6 lead.

The second half belonged to John Glenn.

Play started with Tawas's Compau being stripped of the ball and David Malenfant recovered it on Tawas 12. The Brave defense responded keeping Glenn out of the end zone as they settled for a field goal and a 17-6 lead.

After Glenn's defense drove Tawas back nine yards, the Braves were forced to punt from their 16. Senior Ryan LaFlure then took over. Starting on the Tawas 43, LaFlure reeled off consecutive runs of 8, 14 and 21 yards to reach the end zone making the score 24-6.

Glenn's next possession took all of two plays as Jordan Schumann broke off a 48 yard dash to pay dirt and a 31-6 third quarter lead. After both teams went to their benches, Glenn put one more score in the books in the fourth quarter. Starting on Tawas 47, the Bobcats powered the ball down to the 8 yard line before Kooper Martinez ran it in to make it the final, 38-6.

The win raised John Glenn's record to 2-4, 1-2 in the conference. More importantly, all the players were able to play in front of the fans and keep their playoff hopes alive.
