From both far and near, alumni of All Saints Central return to Bay City every year to see old friends, reminisce about the past, and above all else - see a Cougar football game. Unfortunately this years homecoming game was a somber one for fans. Particularly for this year's Senior class, due to the fact that Friday's loss was the first time they ever saw the Cougars lose their homecoming game since they arrived as Freshmen. The Cougars knew they would have their hands full with the Sandusky Redskins, and for the first half the Cougars gave the Redskins all they had.

It was a cold battle on the field for the Cougars, who started out the night on offense. The Cougars went to work near the 35 yard line, but wouldn't get very far before they were forced to turn the ball over on downs. Defeated, but not "out for the count," the Cougar's offensive line turned to their defenders to put the pressure on the Redskins. The Cougars defense put up a good fight, but were only able to delay the Redskins powerful offense. The Redskins, who have only been defeated twice this season, scored their first touchdown with about three minutes left in the first quarter. A successful Redskin two-point-conversion put some salt in the wound, and put Sandusky up 8-0.

The Cougars used up the rest of the first quarter working the ball slowly towards the goal line, and in the first few minutes of the second quarter, they put themselves back in the game.

With an impressive run from Kevin Sweircz #44 the Cougars were within scoring distance. An 11 yard touchdown run followed from Drew Janer #12 put the Cougars two points behind Sandusky. The Cougars failed their attempted two-point-conversion, but a huge defensive upset on the next Redskin drive sent the Cougars to their locker room only down 8-6. "It was anyone's game" heading into halftime as Senior Alex Cherry #42 said.

During the halftime break, many important All Saints traditions take place, and this year was no exception. Brad Sinicki and Maria Dorion were crowned All Saints' King and Queen for the Class of 2010. The Seniors were awarded the spirit jug after Jimmy Hunter helped his fellow seniors pull off an upset over the Juniors' impressive skit at the pep-rally.

As the third quarter began, the fans hunkered down with their blankets hoping to see their team pull off a huge upset of the Redskins. Unfortunately they would go home disappointed. The Redskins started off the second half on offense, and wasted no time in widening the gap between themselves and the Cougars. Barely three minutes into the third quarter, the Redskins broke through the Cougar defensive line and scored their second touchdown and another two-point-conversion. Sandusky now lead 16-6 over the seemingly lifeless Cougars.

The Redskins would strike again in the third quarter with only two minutes remaining in the quarter. With a comfortable 24-6 lead going for them, the Redskins were very confident going into the final quarter. The Cougars did their best, but the merciless Redskins scored two more touchdowns and three bonus points on a conversion and a PAT to win the game 37-6 over the devastated Cougars.

All Saints Head Coach Eric Gust said after his team trudged off their home field "it is what it is, now we have to put it behind us and prepare for our last game next week." The Cougars' record now stands at 3-5, and next week they will face off against Carrolton. Last years Cougars prevented Carrolton form achieving their first undefeated season, so Coach Gust and his Cougars know their in for another tough game.
