How Did You Spend Your Hour?

An hour of time just isn't what it used to be . . .
It happens every year.
Spring Ahead . . . Fall Back . . .
For the past 65 years, I haven't paid much attention to the hour gained during the October/November ritual of "Fall Back."
Historically, I just fritter the free hour away. Generally, just flopping over on the pillow and taking another hour of ZZZZs.
Not this year . . .
This year, I gave it a lot of thought. I made a concerted effort to use the additional time to accomplish something meaningful.
Once I made the committment, the choices were endless?
Yardwork? (There sure are a lot of leaves this year)
Oil Change?
Wash the dog?
Count the candy bars left over from Trick or Treat?
Clean out the garage?
Put storm windows on the screen doors?
Re-arrange my NETFLIX Queue?
Organize my g-mail folders?
Walk three miles?
Lions' Football?
(According to www.cnnsi.com: The Lions have won just two of their past 31 games dating to the midway point of 2007. The last team to have only two victories in a 32-game stretch was the Houston Oilers during the 1982-84 seasons)
World Series?
Bret Favre at Lambeau Field? (Does anyone else think Bret's looking a little grey around the edges?)
Actually . . . an hour isn't all that much time.
It took me most of the 60 minutes to reset all the clocks in the cars and the digital appliances . . . then I cooked breakfast (bacon and eggs) . . . and wrote this column.
Where does the time go?
Thirty years ago, life was much simpler.
In the 70's, I just stayed in the bar until 2:00am, cheered when they rolled the clock back to 1:00am, and ordered another round of drinks . . .
Life was so much simpler when the Lion's Den was open and the only device that needed re-setting was my watch . . . (and it wasn't digital)
