Seven homes and two business buildings will be featured on the 3rd Annual Holiday Parlour Tour & Christmas Market on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, from 4-8 p.m.

This annual event sponsored by the Center Avenue Neighborhood Association opens local historic homes and businesses to public viewing.

In addition to the varied architecture represented on this year's tour, which ranges from Queen Anne Victorian with Eastlake Details to Alden B. Dow style, the holiday decorations that home and business owners plan are sure to provide interesting viewing.

One of the homeowners is displaying Christmas trees in every room of crystal, feather, tinsel, children's toys, and more. Another homeowner is decorating for the holidays in both contemporary and traditional designs.

The Holiday Parlour Tour & Christmas Market is the premier fundraising event for the neighborhood association. The revenue and goodwill generated through this event allows the Center Avenue Neighborhood Association to continue to preserve and protect the architectural heritage of Bay City's east side.

"Our goal is to encourage property owners and prospective neighbors to renovate and preserve their homes and businesses and to assist them in finding artisans and information to help them in this endeavor," stated Shirley Roberts, Chairperson of the Center Avenue Neighborhood Association. "The Annual Parlour Tour is our way of welcoming you to see and enjoy first-hand the pleasure of living in, working in, and being a steward of these historic architectural treasures."

Tickets are available from Begick Nursery & Garden Center, GT Homestead, Feige Interiors of Saginaw, Herman Hiss & Company, Martha's Market, Morgan's Auto Repair, My Secret Garden, Pere Marquette Depot Visitor Center, Petit Four Pastry of Essexville, Saginaw Street Salon, Utermalen Furniture, Violets Blue, and Warmbier Farms of Auburn. Tickets purchased in advance are $15 and $17 on tour days.

The Christmas Market located inside the Pere Marquette Depot Visitor Center at 1000 Adams Street will be fully stocked with one of a kind gifts handcrafted by local artisans, jewelry, home furnishings, Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, clothing, and food vendors.

The Center Avenue Neighborhood Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and protect the historic and scenic character of the Center Avenue Heritage Corridor, educate residents and visitors about the heritage and cultural assets that exist, and coordinate resources to enhance the intrinsic value of the neighborhood. ###
