It was a great game for any Bay City Thunder fan Wednesday night. With the Thunder firing 55 shots on Swan Valley Goaltender Bostyn Drapp #30 the game was action packed from the puck drop to the final buzzer. Despite the shots on goal advantage, the Swan Valley Titans were able to stop all but four shots from becoming goals. For the Thunder, Wednesdays game was a nightmare caused by Drapp between the pipes. Nevertheless, the Thunder were relentless despite being down a goal, or two, three times in their battle with the Titians.

Things got off to a horrifying start for the confident Thunder team. Titan Brett Federspiel #11 slipped two past Thunder goalie Cole Martin #30 at 8:42 and 3:09 left in the period respectfully. With momentum tipped away from the Thunder, things looked bleak with a 2-0 deficit on the board - but the Bay City Thunder relish a challenge. Only a minute after Federspiel put the Titans up by two, #14 Aaron Martin slipped one under Drapp's glove as he tried to cover up a soft wrist shot on net. The Thunder were on the road to recovery down 2-1. The Titans almost made it 3-1 when a costly turnover gave them a clean breakaway with only 3.9 seconds left in the period. Martin made a beautiful stop to keep the it a close 2-1 game.

The second period was a score fest for both teams. Starting the second period off with a power play, the Titans were met with relentless Thunder defense and were only able to fire one shot on goal. The Thunder grabbed momentum from their successful penalty kill and put the pressure on Drapp in the Titans zone. At 12:50 left in the period a quick pass from Ian Bever #16 to Alex Murray #4 resulted in a tying goal for the Thunder. But the Thunder were just getting warmed up. They struck again 40 seconds later when a blast from Peter Schweinsberg #3 beat Drapp and put the Thunder up 3-2.

Titan defenseman #20 Kyle Flattery wasn't thrilled and put the puck in the net again to knot the game at three apiece. Things got worse for the Thunder when another turnover allowed Federspiel to put one past Martin for the hat trick with just 50 seconds left in the second period. The Thunder headed to the locker room down 4-3.

For the desperate Thunder, the third period was exactly what they were looking for. The defense picked up in front of Martin, and the Thunder spent most of their time pounding Drapp with shots from all over the ice. After seeing one power play goal waved off near the start of the period, Ian Bever #16 was hell-bent on not allowing it to happen again. A late third period penalty on the Titans gave the Thunder the chance they were looking for. At 3:53 left in the final period Bever notched his third assist of the night with a pass over to Aaron Martin #14 for the huge tying goal.

Thunder head coach Dave Lacourt said his team "played well, and kept the put in their zone most of the time." Ian Bever echoed those statements saying, "the team played well and did a lot of good things." Bever also praised goaltender Cole Martin saying he "came up big for us with some big saves."

Thanks for the great coverage of Thunder hockey. Have you done other games? Will you do future games? We have a game on Friday night at 7 at the rink. This is more coverage than the B.C. times has given for the season. We are proud of our team. Thanks.
