For the first quarter, John Glenn gave Corunna all they could handle. But ice cold shooting in the second quarter allowed Corunna to get hot as the Lady Bobcats fell to Corunna 46-28 in non-league action Tuesday night.

Both teams started the game with a full court press. John Glenn's tenacity kept Corunna off guard and didn't let them work the ball into their taller post girls. Meanwhile, it was the quickness of Glenn's own post players, Paige Moore and Brianna Sahr who helped pace the Lady Bobcats in the first quarter as the two teams scored 11 points.

Then the Cavaliers' quickness and up front pressure that took over the game. Led by Senior point guard Megan Birchmeier, Corunna pressured the ball keeping Glenn's inside game at bay while forcing turnovers and quick baskets. Birchmeier poured in 8 points in the second quarter while the Cavalier defense held the Bobcats to one field goal to mount a 28-18 halftime lead.

Corunna's height took over in the third quarter. Working the ball inside, Corunna took advantage of their height advantage pulling away to a 43-25 lead by the end of the third quarter. The relentless pressure of the Cavaliers resulted in Corunna outscoring John Glenn 32-14 in the middle periods to get a huge advantage.

Half way through the third period, Corunna turned to using all of the half court. By spreading the play out, they not only ate up clock but forced John Glenn to come out. This opened lanes to the basket helping them control the game. While this continued through much of the first part of the fourth quarter, Glenn was never able to get their offense on track. Both teams only scored three points in the final stanza but it was Corunna who came away with a 46-28 victory.

Corunna was led by Megan Birchmeier with 14 points while Nikki Davis added eight and Dani Hill chipped in seven points.

John Glenn was led by Paige Moore who scored 9 points with Brianna Sahr adding 6.
