A quick start got John Glenn playing in the right direction. But it was their tenacious defense in the second quarter that solidified their second victory of the year as they downed Corunna, 62-44.
Employing a fast break coupled with quick passing, the Bobcats burst out to a 7-2 early first quarter lead. The Cavaliers warmed up some as the period went on. It was Corunna's Jalen Schladiter's two put backs that kept Corunna close, 11-8.
In the second quarter, John Glenn turned up the defensive pressure to all but shut down any semblance of a Corunna attack. Quick ball movement and back to back three-pointers by Jaye Kudrow pushed the Bobcat lead to 29-9 half way through the second quarter.
Corunna then went to a perimeter offense looking for three point opportunities and seemed to get them when Eli Gentry hit his own back to back "triples" from the corner. Then Glenn made adjustments forcing Corunna to attempt to drive the basket. The drives were not successful and soon, the Bobcats were converting missed lay-ups into baskets of their own in building a 33-16 halftime lead.

The second half saw both teams trade baskets as Corunna looked to make a run. On this night, Glenn showed that they were up to the task as they constantly responded to Corunna's pressure and effort. By the end of the third quarter, each team had recorded 14 points with Glenn holding the edge, 47-30.
Continuing their full court press, the Cavaliers looked to drive the basket in hopes of putting the Bobcats in foul trouble or scoring easy baskets. But the Bobcats were undaunted as they continued to match baskets and finished with a 62-44 win.
Jaye Kudrow led John Glenn with 17 points while Tom Escamilla added 12 and Brett Dobbins knocked down 10 points.
Corunna was lead by TJ Grabowski who knocked down 14 points with teammates Eli Gentry and Jalen Schladiter adding 12 to pace the Cavaliers.
