John Glenn entered the game with Garber hoping the long holiday break may have slowed the Garber attack. But when you are playing a cross town rival, there seems to be a little more juice in the effort. The Lady Dukes used that energy to get off to a quick start and keep it going as the Lady Dukes cruised to a 56-33 win.

From the opening tip-off, Garber came out on fire. Employing their full court press, they jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first one and a half minutes. A John Glenn time-out allowed the Bobcats to adjust to the press as the two teams battled it out the rest of the quarter. .At the end of the quarter, the Lady Dukes held a 16-10 lead.

John Glenn went to a one-three-one zone with center Brianna Sahr manning the point. Her height and long reach disrupted the Duke offense resulting in several errant passes. After Garber's senior point guard Molly Braun went down with a knee injury, the Lady Dukes adjusted by looking inside. Janessa Urban's 6 points off the bench helped stretch Garber's lead to 26-14 at the half.

Garber came out on fire as Kara Brewer took over the point position for injured Molly Braun. Brewer handled the trap by hitting from outside then driving the lane, only to dish to Caitlyn Keuvelaar for an outside jumper. Garber's defense picked up the intensity, denying the inside game of Glenn's talented forwards. Glenn kept hustling as their trap pressure produced late period baskets, narrowing Garber's lead to 41-22.

Brewer's ball-handling and leadership kept the Duke offense humming. Working the pick and rolls, the Dukes surged further ahead. But Glenn never backed off. Using mid-range jumpers, the Bobcats responded to keep Garber in range. But the Duke firepower was too much as they ran off with a 56-33 win.

Kara Brewer led all scorers with 15 points with Ashton Morse adding 13 for Garber. Katie Neering and Janessa Urban contributed with 8 each.

Brianna Suhr led the Lady Bobcats with 10 points while senior point guard Stephanie LaBelle added 5.
