When Central matches up with Midland Dow, the Lady Wolves always know they are in for a tough contest. This year's contest was even tougher as the Charges have a talented squad anchored by six foot three Rebecca Mills. While Central clearly was not intimidated, the Charges proved to have too much fire power as they pulled off a 55-25 victory at Central Tuesday night.

Using a full court press coupled with a fast break, Dow bolted out to a 12-0 lead half way through the quarter. Danielle Skrocki put Central on the scoreboard when she hit a 3-pointer. Despite getting good looks at the basket, Central couldn't get the shots to fall as Dow took a 15-3 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Virginia Fisher opened up the second quarter for Central with a nice head fake and drive to the basket. Dow soon responded as Rebecca Mills hit a jumper, from the free throw line, then stole the inbounds pass for a lay-up. Moments later, she hit Taylor Thurston for a baseline lay-up giving the Chargers a quick 21-5 lead early in the second quarter. Both teams substituted for fresh legs as they settled into a half court game. Good ball movement by both teams kept the game exciting as Dow finished the first half with a 29-12 lead.

Dow got off to a quick start to beginning the second half with five points in 17 seconds. They continued to work their perimeter passing finding open players in Central's zone. A suffocating defense kept central from finding open shots. Danielle Skrocki's free throw with just over one minute left in the quarter broke the Charger's 14-0 second half start. By the end of the third quarter, Dow had built a 45-16 lead.

The Wolves continued to battle in the fourth quarter. But the Chargers had built too large of a lead for there to be any hopes of a comeback. Early substitutions allowed both benches to see valuable minutes as Dow finished off the game with a 55-25 win.

Midland Dow was lead by Rebecca Mills who tallied 19 points in reduced minutes. Taylor Thurston contributed eight while Sarah Arent and Kristin Mills added 6.

Central was led by Danielle Skrocki who scored eleven points with Virginia Fisher adding 4.
