Ogemaw Heights has been enjoying a dream season as they entered Thursday night's game against Pinconning. And while the Spartans have struggled this year, the Heights came out determined not to take Pinconning lightly. Riding the dominating offense of Ashley Thompson and a smothering team defense, Ogemaw ran off to a 63-20 conference victory.

The Heights exploded in the first quarter for 26 points. Knocking down four three pointers, two by Ashley Thompson who tallied 15 first quarter points of her own, Ogemaw put on an offensive show of power. Pinconning joined in on the offensive rush by scoring eleven points of their own. The onslaught of points gave Ogemaw a 26-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Spreading the ball around the score sheet, Ogemaw racked up 13 more points in the second quarter. Even more impressive was their defense that stymied the Spartans holding them to only two second quarter points. At the half, the Heights had built a 39-13 lead.

The game got worse for the Spartans in the third quarter. Ogemaw held them scoreless for the entire period. Additionally, Thompson lit up the scoreboard for eight more points in the quarter as Ogemaw increase their lead to 55-13 heading into the fourth quarter.

With most of the Ogemaw starters sitting out the fourth quarter, Pinconning continued to battle as they reached the 20 point mark for the game. Ogemaw kept playing hard as they came away with a 63-20 victory.

Ashley Thompson led all scorers with 27 points, all in the first three quarters. Josie Wiltse added 10.

Chelsea Adcock and Shannon McDougall scored 4 each for Pinconning.
