What the Cougars expected to be rout of the U.S.A. Patriots turned into a grisly battle for each invaluable point. The Patriots never gave up, and as a result, battled back from a deficit to get within two points of tying the Cougars. In the end, it was last minute free-throws that lifted the Cougars to another thrilling victory.

Though the Patriots struck first, the Cougars answered right back to knot it up 4-4. Seconds later, Drew Janer #23 gave the Cougars the lead with another of his thrilling dunks. From there, it was a roller coaster 1st quarter as both teams battled for the lead. At the culmination of the first, the Cougars held the lead 15-13.

The Patriots fought back and temporarily regained their previous lead - the Cougars were not amused. Another dunk from Janer, and four more points from All Saints second consecutive game top scorer Thomas Villano #41 restored the Cougars dominance. At the end of the defensive second quarter, the Cougars again held the upper hand 26-22.

The Cougars survived the third quarter thanks to the stellar play of Thomas Villano. Adding another six points to the Cougars tally, Villano made sure he helped maintain All Saints slim lead. After two quarters of slim leads and low scoring numbers, the Cougars finally managed to put some distance between themselves and the Patriots. With only one decisive quarter remaining, All Saints was poised for another victory with the score at 39-33.

If the Cougars thought the game was over they were sorely mistaken. The Patriots combined for 21 points in the offensive fourth quarter - more than either teams previous per-quarter performances. The Cougars, however; hit the fourth quarter like champions. Quickly racking up a 44-33 lead, the Cougars sent the fans into a frenzy and the Patriots to a timeout. Whatever was said in that timeout obviously helped the struggling Patriots.

From there free-throws were the decisive factor in the game. 6 fouls in that final minute, and 9 out of 12 points hit kept the Cougars winning steak alive. The Cougars walked proudly off of the court with a 59-54 victory added to their record book.
