The Bay County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m., with the regular meeting following personnel/judicial and human services committee meetings.
The board will hear from Leo Bouchard, treasurer, Bay County Fair Board, regarding a growing new program -- employee appreciation days at the fair.
Mr. Bouchard is issuing an invitation to local companies to participate with the fair by holding an employee appreciation picnic during the week of the fair, Tuesday, Aug. 10 through Saturday, Aug. 14.
Employees attending their company's picnic will have free admission to the fair and discounted wristbands for midway attractions.
"In the past we have provided many educational exhibits, focused on our youth, including a child identification program, the Bay County Smoke House (fire awareness), Bay City Light & Power and Consumers Energy exhibits," said Mr. Bouchard.
Free entertainment for children will be offered. In the past the fair has hosted "Grampa Cratchet," "Roscoe the Clown," LeCronier's Petting Zoo and "The Butterfly House."
Employee appreciation day in the past has attracted Bay Metro Transit and Bay Regional Medical Center groups, said Mr. Bouchard.
