Garber needed a win against second place North Branch to pull within one game of the Broncos. Using a dominating inside defensive effort, the Dukes held the Broncos to ten second half points. The effort helped them overcome a six point half time deficit to post a 50-40 TVC win.

Both Garber and North Branch started with a fast pace but struggled to score. With good ball movement and quick defensive hands, each team mustered 11 points for the quarter.

Play loosened up in the second quarter as shooters found their range. Mike Schroeder controlled the skies for Garber as he scored six points in the quarter. North Branch had an answer of their own as Chris White and Kyle Cline each popped in six points.

The difference in the quarter came on a double technical foul called against Garber. After a substitution, the officials started play before the player could get off the court. Not recognizing the mistake, they called Garber for 6 players on the floor. Garber earned the second technical for sharing their thoughts on the call. The result was a five point swing as the Broncos hit 3 of 4 free throws then scored the possession helping them build a 30-24 half time lead.

Garber put in a gem of a defensive effort in the third quarter. Mike Schroeder affirmed he is the Chairman of the Boards by rejecting three consecutive shots in a spectacular fashion. Todd Walraven and Lee Madziar had his back as they controlled the point. Travis Britko and Jesse Kenniston handled the offense. This allowed the Dukes to come back and tie the game 36 all heading into the fourth quarter.

Garber kept their defensive domination throughout the fourth quarter. Having held the Bronco's to six points in the previous quarter, Garber turned it up a notch allowing only four fourth quarter points. This powered the offense as they pulled away with fourteen points for a 50-40 win.

Garber was led by Mike Schroeder's 20 points with Jesse Kenniston scoring 14 and Lee Madziar adding 8.

The Broncos were led by Kyle Cline who pumped in 12 points with Chris White adding 8. <
