Western and John Glenn squared off Tuesday night for west side bragging rights. An explosive third quarter and Western's height proved to be too much as the Warriors pulled away with a 70-45 win.

Western opened the game with their patent three point attach. Treys by Tyler Ellis, Aaron Tithof and Matt Costello helped propel the Warriors into an early lead. Glenn's Jaye Kudrow knocked down a three of his own to keep the Bobcats close at the end of the first quarter, 13-8.

The game remained tight throughout the second quarter. Kudrow hit two more threes to help Glenn keep pace. But the inside strength of Western helped muscle the Warriors ahead. Giants Brandon Havercamp and Matt Costello combined for 13 of the Warriors 15 points in the quarter to give the Warriors a 28-21 half time advantage.

John Glenn narrowed the margin to three to start the third quarter before Western got on track. Costello led the way scoring 12 third quarter points. Tyler Ellis and Aaron Tithof added another set of three's to help Western outscore Glenn in the quarter 22-9 in building an insurmountable 50-30 lead.

The Bobcats looked for outside help as they visited three point land themselves. Jordan Schumann hit two three point shots and Thomas Escamilla added another but the effort was not enough. Western matched the outside bombardment with Tithof hitting two three pointers and Jason Pressler notching one of his own. In the end, Western pulled further ahead for a 70-45 victory.

Matt Costello led all scorers with 27 points with fellow 6 foot 8 post player, Brandon Havercamp putting down 16. Aaron Tithof threw in 13 for Western.

John Glenn was led by Jaye Kudrow who scored 11 points with Thomas Escamilla adding 10 and Jordan Schumann chipping in 9.
