Review Magazine will be hosting its 24th Annual Music Awards Ceremony & Celebration on the evening of Monday, April 26, 2010 at The Prime Event Center, 1201 Washington Ave. in Downtown Bay City.

Doors will open at 5:00 pm with presentations beginning at 6:00 pm. Since the first ceremony in 1987, the Music Awards have evolved into one of the premier cultural events in the tri-cities, awarding trophies to over 70 local music ans and groups in the areas of Rock, Country, Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Folk and Alternative. The diversity & scope of the Awards is unprecedented at a local level, truly making this a regionalized version of the 'Grammy Awards'.

The top five groups and musicians in each of the 70 divisions were nominated by fans and the general public through an online ballot process over a three month period from January through March.

The winners are determined by a second voting flight that allows readers and fans to pick the top musician of five nominated in each respective category.

The single purpose of this ceremony is to bring greater community, statewide, and national recognition to local talent, which we feel has a rich history of being one of the strongest in the state, and giving it the proper notoriety and attention that it deserves.

Guest personalities, cultural, and community leaders will assist in handing out awards the night of the ceremony, while a strong list of local performers will headline this year's show with live performances.

Musical guests this year will feature guest performances that include the Big Band Jazz sounds of The Baytones; R&B with The MELtones; country with 2009 RMA winners Mandi Layne & the Lost Highway; contemporary rock showcasing artistic originality with The Tosspints, Thick as Thieves, The Honky Tonk Zeros and Maybe August; Hip Hop with OJ 'The King' & 80's Babies; alternative with the unique sounds of Temporary Limbs; and Blues with Scott Baker & The Universal Expressions.

Special surprise guests to be announced may also be in store. Additionally, a special Buffet Banquet will be available at The Prime Event Center.

Tickets for this event are $15.00 in advance, and $20.00 at the door. They will go on sale April 25th at the following locations:

SAGINAW:
Review Magazine, White's Bar, Records & Tapes Galore, and Grand Central;

Bay City:
Mid Michigan Music, Bemo's, and Hooters; Midland: Mid Michigan Music and Tim Boychuck's State Farm Insurance.
