The Friends of Celtic Culture, a Michigan Non-Profit Corporation dedicated to the promotion of the arts and music of the Seven Celtic Nations and headquartered in the Great Lakes Bay Region, is proud to present for the first time in the FCC's six-year history a band hailing from Glasgow and Edinburgh Scotland.

The band is North Sea Gas and the concert will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, 7:30 p.m. at the State Theatre, 913 Washington Avenue, Bay City, Michigan, 989-892-2660. $20 tickets are available at the State and also on the FCC Website,friendsofcelticculture.org.

Thirty years and stronger than ever, North Sea Gas is one of Scotland's most popular folk bands providing tremendous three-part harmonies. Guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, whistles, bodhran, great vocals, and humor are all part of the entertainment. They have received Gold and Silver Disc awards from the Music Industry Association and regularly have sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. They have recorded thirteen albums, preformed in Turkey, Germany, America, Canada, Austria, and while in China, recorded for television for an estimated audience of over 800 million people.

Founding member and lead singer of North Sea Gas is Dave Gilfillan. He also plays the guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Ronnie MacDonald is on guitar, and Grant Simpson is on fiddle. It is no wonder that the residents of the Saginaw Valley will be ready to don their kilts and dance to the "Highland Fling" when North Sea Gas arrives in Bay City!
