4.2 million gallons of oil flood the gulf every day. And the estimate keeps getting worse as time goes on.
Every time I hear these type of updates on the news in the morning, I literally feel sick to my stomach. I cant even fathom how much oil that is. Let alone how much TOTAL since the explosion happened. And them dealing with the depth of 18,000 feet.
Recently, I heard someone say they "Don't Care about the oil spill in the gulf and don't want to hear about it." I could not believe my ears, I almost lost total respect for that person. How can you not care about this environmental catastrophe? Even when or if they stop it, it will be effecting our environment and people for YEARS.
To date, over 65,000 claims have been submitted and more than 32,000 payments have been made -- totaling over $105 million. I bet if gas prices rose, then this person would be sure to CARE about that.
I hope EVERYONE realizes the far-reaching devastation of this catastrophe and is praying and doing what they can to help this disaster and are praying for the people and the families of the people that died from this unfathomable disaster.

God, we pray for the ongoing clean-up effort in the Gulf of Mexico, that your grace and peace would be on those involved. We pray for your provision and comfort for those who are suffering as a result of this disaster. And we pray for quick response to repair the damage that has been done. Amen.
