JJKN Hoops Pickvet defeats Greenwood 75-70 in Overtime.

The Art Sample Men's Pro-Am Championship concluded Tuesday night and with a strong second half rally, the trophy will remain possession of JJKN Hoops for the third straight year. JJKN Hoops Pickvet rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to defeat the Greenwood Financial Cardinals 75-70 in overtime.
Struggling with the inability to score in the first half, Hoops started the second half on an 18-7 run to tie the game at 45 with 12 minutes left. Hoops star forward Willie Pickvet landed 10 of the teams first 18 points to lead the rally. From that point, the game turned into a heavyweight championship with each squad landing what appeared to be a knockout punch, only to be countered.
With the score tied at 65 in regulation, Hoops Pickvet attempted his best Jimmy Chitwood (from the movie "Hoosiers") moment but the shot fell harmlessly short and we headed to OT.
Dan Genther led the OT scoring with a free throw to temporarily take a 66-65 lead for Greenwood but would not score again until the last minute of the OT. Cam Coburn nailed the door shut with a corner 3-point shot to put Hoops up 73-66 with 45 seconds to play.
Leading the Hoops was Pickvet with 21, Aaron List and Tyler Gray added 16 and 15 respectively for the Champions. Keithan Jackson led Greenwood and all scorers with 24 while Chris Webb dropped 23 in the losing effort.
With the win, Hoops avenged their only regular season loss and finished the season 8-1 while Greenwood had their seven game win streak snapped and finished 7-3.
