CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? -- Chris Girard tried to call Dave Mitten to let him know that he (Mitten) was the big winner. (Answering Machine)

Dave Mitten won the big prize at the DO-All and Good Samaritan fundraiser drawing at Kingfish Restaurant on Thursday.

Dave Quimby of Weinlander-Fitzhugh pulled Mitten's name out a barrel containing close to 800 tickets on Thursday night. Mitten was not present and Do-All Chris Girard tried calling Mitten on the phone to give him the good news.

"I'm sure he'll get the good news," said Girard.

Kingfish's Dockside deck was jam-packed with ticket holders hoping to win the Camaro donated by Graff Chevrolet of Bay City. "We're happy to be a part of this event," said Kingfish's Gregg Kimbrue about the crowd. "It's a worthy cause and we support the community any way we can."

Girard took the microphone and thanked everyone who took part in the organization of the event as well as the massive effort to sell raffle tickets.

Girard praised the efforts of GM Powertrain to get the fundraiser rolling, Good Samaritan volunteers and his staff and employees at Do-All. "There's no way this gets done without everyone's help."

Other major prize winners were Tom and Judy Ayotte who won $1,000 and Letra Hand of Gladwin who won $2,000.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be shared by both Do-All and Good Samaritan.

"Hundreds of hours went into making this event a success," Girard concluded. "I wish I could thank everyone personally for all their help."
