It's Fair Time Again! Bay County Fair and Youth Exposition Tuesday-Saturday

Free Wide World of Animals, Lumberjack Shows Scheduled Daily

Rides and games for all the family are planned for the County Fair.
 

       It's county fair time again! Time to get the kids and head for the fairgrounds to enjoy family fun. The fair's list of events looks better than ever. Don't miss it!

      The fair opens Tuesday with Family Day, featuring an action-packed list of activities including a free Ronald McDonald show at 3 p.m.. Funseekers may ride all day, 2-10 p.m., for just $5.

            Two free entertainment events are scheduled daily: The Wide World of Animals and the Great Lakes Timber shows.


      The Wide World of Animals is called "one of the premier grounds acts in the entertainment industry. Its unique blend of animal diversity and environmental messages coupled with originally scripted, non-stop laughter makes for an enjoyable time for the whole family."

      The lumberjack show features chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one-and two-man cross-cut sawing, modified chain sawing, and log rolling.

      Following is a schedule of events for the 2004 Bay County Fair and Youth Exposition:

      
  • Child ID Program -- The Bay City Police Department will conduct the child ID program, Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 4-6 p.m.

          
  • Bay City Fire Department Smoke House -- Featuring fire safety education. On site Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 5-7 p.m.

          
  • Figure-8 Derby -- Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. Admission Fees are $8 for adults, $4 for children aged 12 and under.

  • Livestock Auction -- Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Livestock Barn Arena. Bidding begins at 5 p.m.

  • Demolition Derby -- Saturday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. Admission Fees are $8 for adults, $4 for children aged 12 and under.

          Hands-On Activities

          
  • Ruben Flores, free pottery instruction for kids, Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 4-6 p.m.

          
  • Home Depot free bird house contruction project for kids on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 4:30-7 p.m.###
