Auto enthusiasts and their automobiles are the focus of Delta College Q-TV's newest documentary, "Restored To Glory-Classic Automobiles, Collectors & Their Stories." The program is slated to premiere Sunday, November 28th at 7 p.m. and it repeats Thursday, December 2nd at 8 p.m.

Q-TV annually produces a documentary about the Great Lakes Bay Region and the surrounding areas to help share the culture and history of the region.

"Restored To Glory" is written and directed by Bob Przybylski, a Bay City resident. The documentary introduces viewers to some of the region's most enthusiastic car collectors who share their stories about collecting, restoring and enjoying their classic automobiles.

Przybylski has directed five documentaries over the past six years and has won numerous awards for this work, all of which has included historical subjects.

"I was really overwhelmed by the quality of the automobiles I found being collected in Michigan and the amount of time and money put into restoring them. The history behind these cars is so interesting," says Przybylski.

"I am not a car guy per se, but I really have come to appreciate the hard work and beauty of these automobiles -- they are really works of art. I'll never look at an old rusty car sitting in a field the same way again."

Highlights include:

· A legally Blind man who collects Studebakers.

· A Midland couple who built their retirement home with their classic car collection in mind.

· The national Glidden Tour featuring pre-WWII automobiles, held this year in Holland, Michigan.

· A Flint businesswoman who runs an auto upholstery firm that caters to car restorers.

· Two sons of a milkman who restored a 1940s milk truck as a tribute to their father.

· A Saginaw man who is restoring his father's 1961 Corvette that was locked away in a garage for 40 years.

The 90-minute documentary has been in production most of the year and includes stories from The Great Lakes Bay Region, Flint and Traverse City.

Delta's Q-TV is the public broadcasting station serving the Great Lakes Bay Region. Delta College?s WDCQ-TV serves 26 counties in mid-Michigan and is an integral part of these communities. The station reaches almost 1.2 million potential viewers 24 hours a day. Delta has received more than 40 state and national awards in recent years for broadcasting excellence.
