Kid Rock plans to celebrate his 40th Birthday at Ford Field Michigan, on January 15, 2011 with his "Born Free" Tour.
On November 16, 2010 Kid Rock announced the first 3 months of his "BORN FREE" tour that comes in support of his new album that is currently in stores.
The kickoff of the tour comes in the form of a
40th Birthday Party Kid Rock is throwing for himself with 60,000 of his closest friends, at Detroit's Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions football team.
The stadium will be renamed '40 Field' in honor of the occasion. The special show will include surprise guests and plenty of surprises.
Tickets went on sale November 26, 2010, for performance at Ford Field, Detroit and
sold out in 19 minutes.
On Saturday, December 4th Sold out Saginaw's Dow Event Center in 5 minutes, added a second show and also sold out that show. Show performances on January 21 & 22 (2011) in Saginaw.
The headlining tour will also feature very special guest Jamey Johnson, whose new album 'The Guitar Song' has been drawing rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
Kid Rock's new album debuted ranked #1 on the Billboard Rock Album charts!
The Rick Rubin produced record is also ranked at #5 on the Digital Albums charts, #11 on the Canadian Albums charts and #4 on the Tastemaker Albums charts.
As usual Kid Rock will be backed by his own excellent Twisted Brown Trucker Band. Following the Detroit celebration the tour wraps around the country, hitting arenas throughout the country with this first leg of the tour ending March 12th in Memphis, TN.
This is just the beginning of a busy touring year for Kid Rock.
