Both teams entered the contest with three wins and looking to get that break out victory that propels them into the meat of their season. Whether it was strong defense, a disrupted routine due to exams week, or just one of those nights, both teams struggled to take command of the game and put together consistent offensive production. In the end, it was John Glenn's team determination that led them to a 33-19 victory.

The pace started slow for both teams as they were content to run their half court offense. John Glenn benefited from this pace early as they moved the ball well finding open shots by attacking the basket to build an early 8-0 lead. Their defense complimented the effort by preventing Pinconning from passing the ball inside forcing a perimeter passing game that produced little shots as they continued to look inside.

The Lady Spartans began to chip away at the lead by pushing the ball up court to find an open shot along with taking some outside chances that either produced a basket or a second chance bucket. The result was a comeback to trail by only three at the end of the first quarter, 11-8.

Both teams started the second quarter with a three point bucket then they went cold. Glenn had three straight traveling violations which kept them from getting their offense on track. Then they turned to Brianna Sahr to get their offense in gear. The talented junior scored back to back baskets by penetrated along the baseline and either pulling up for a jumper then continuing on if for a lay up. The Lady Bobcats kept up their quick defense and with Pinconning's reluctance to attack the basket allowed Glenn to build a 21 to 13 half time lead.

The third period found both teams shooting as cold as our single digit mornings. Pinconning scored an early basket and that was it for the rest of the quarter. John Glenn faired no better as they were unable to score a single basket from the floor missing on several lay ups and short range jumpers. The Lady Bobcats scored their first point on a free throw with 3:31 remaining in the quarter and got their second point on a free throw with seconds remaining leaving the score at 23-15.

John Glenn found their range early enough in the fourth quarter to build a comfortable lead then ran a ball control offense to burn off the remaining time on the clock to come away with a 33 to 19 victory.

Brianna Sahr led all scorers with 13 points, eleven in the first half while Kristin Tobin added 7 and Amber Kipfmiller scored 6.

Pinconning was led by Dana Mayer who knocked down 8 points with Chelsea Adcock and Cassidy Vieau adding 4.
