With five games remaining in the season, the IceHawks were looking to put a winning touch in their final games. But the Oilers were working to gain momentum as they enter the playoffs. The Oilers used the combination of sharp shooting and a strong goaltending performance to hold back the IceHawks.

The fast paced action saw Tri City put early pressure on the Oilers. The Oiler goalie, Max Miller was strong early holding off the IceHawks. The Oilers got the scoring going when Riley Harder skated to the goal line and found Ian Reffert open at the backside of the net for a 1-0 lead.

A minute and a half later, the Oilers William Blansett picked up the puck from behind the net and skated out front for a quick wrist shot making it 2-0. The IceHawks fought back but were not able to find a seam in the Oiler defense. Then with 30 left in the period, Wooster added one more goal to take a 3-0 lead into the break.

Tri City attacked the net to start the second period. Getting traffic in front of the net, they fired looking for deflections or rebounds to score. It was the Oilers that were able to find the back of the net as Cory Berney picked up a rebound by the side of the net and scored making it 4-0. Wooster was able to add two more goals thanks to a powerplay before Zach Bauer got the IceHawks on the board. Working a powerplay of their own, Bauer worked his way in front of the net a fired an rebound past the Oiler netminder making it 6-1.

Tri City started strong in the final stanza with solid pressure. Late in the period Dean Potila score for the IceHawks on a powerplay. But the goal was sandwiched between five Oiler goals making the final 11-2. Tri City looks to rebound with a Sunday matinee game against the same Oilers.
