The Patriotic spirit was definitely it the air for the 2nd annual 'Rock This Country' Fund-raising event Sponsored by Catholic Federal Credit Union (CFCU) on Sunday, February 13, 2011.

A family friendly event it was with a incredible 7 band line up, sharing their time and musical gifts which brought country and rock fans of all ages together to support the troops and make it a memorable moment for all.

"Rock This Country was a great success," said Wendy Dore, Event Organizer. "It was an 'eye opener' to me to watch the video screen of all of the wonderful Americans that make the sacrifice for the rest of us," Dore went on. "I am proud that we could be a small part of trying to give back to these American heroes!"

Dore continued to thank everyone who contributed including, Title sponsor Catholic Federal Credit Union, local media, volunteers, the bands who performing, all the guests for their donations.

"This event was for any member of the family, all ages coming together having a good time to support such as great cause", Dore added.

Bridget Looby, VP of Development and Community Relations for CFCU said, "This is the second year that Catholic Federal sponsored the event. After last year's fundraiser, I told Wendy (Dore) you can count on us for next year."

"This event is a perfect match for CFCU," Looby continued. "It's about people helping people. Looby went on to say that the mission of Catholic Federal Credit Union is to be there for the CFCU members, in every stage of their life, in good times and bad.

"I love what we do for our members and love what I do, it's so fulfilling helping people in need," Looby added.

Melissa Alex, Co-founder of the Yellow Ribbon Guard, was happy with the turn out. "It has been a steady flow all day, it was a like a big revolving door, Alex said. "This event will help provide care packages out to the troops including down-loadable music cards and donations to be used for a music card that were brought in by attendees," Alex added.

Attendees who donated down-loadable music cards or cash donations were entered into a drawing to be selected to win 60 seconds in a MONEY VAULT!

Dennis Beson, of the Sinclairs Band said, "I am happy to see so many great people show up and support the troops and the local music scene."

Patriotism was definitely in the air. Steel Wheelz performance of Toby Keith's Angry American brought everyone to their feet.

Hungry Howie's Pizza was on hand with all the pizza favorites. For every piece of pizza purchased, HALF of the money was donated back to the event.
