Bay City Fireworks Festival (BCCF) organizers will kick off their fundraising season this weekend (March 5-6, 2011) with a telethon on the city's public access channel -- Charter Channels 3 (Bay3TV), #99 & #991.
The goal is to raise $20,000 to pay for various expenses during the three-day long event scheduled for early July 2011. The telethon will be held Saturday and Sunday.
Activities will be on the second floor in the banquet center. Again this year there will have prizes to bid on, live entertainment, and yes who doesn't love the auctioneers -- Mike Gwizdala, Jeff Doan, and Dave Shore.
Telethon spokesman Mike Gwizdala said that over 250 prizes will be available during the auction that begins at 9:00am Saturday on the second floor of BARTS (Formerly Lumberbarons) on Bay City's West Side Midland Street District.
Gwizdala said that Wolverine Fireworks will produce the 2011 show, as they have in years past. The BCFF committee just signed a new three-year deal with the company.
