The American Red Cross has operated in the Bay Region for over 93 years, bringing relief and support to victims within the Arenac, Huron, Tuscola, and Bay counties thanks to the selfless efforts of local volunteers.

The East Shoreline Chapter of the American Red Cross will host an Open House on Thursday, March 31st, 2011 in honor of American Red Cross Month.

The event will be held at the chapter office, 228 Washington Avenue, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm; it will give attendees the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the services provided by the chapter to citizens within its four-county jurisdiction.

All ages are welcome to attend the event free of charge and are encouraged to participate in the exciting hands-on activities, informational sessions, and children's activities (ages 10 and under). Refreshments and snacks will be provided along with the chance to enter raffles and win door prizes. The activities and contests will promote the chapter's service in disaster relief, military aid, community development, health and safety preparedness, and importance of local American Red Cross volunteers.

The American Red Cross has operated in the Bay Region for over 93 years, bringing relief and support to victims within the Arenac, Huron, Tuscola, and Bay counties thanks to the selfless efforts of local volunteers.

The chapter prides itself on the dedication and commitment of its volunteers who make it possible for the chapter to serve local communities and carry out the mission of the American Red Cross. It is the chapter's hope that all community members as well as past, present, and interested volunteers will attend the Open House and expand the passion to aid those affected within the four counties. This event will provide an outstanding experience for everyone to understand and become a part of the East Shoreline Chapter while celebrating American Red Cross Month.

About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization - not a government agency - and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
