The 2011 Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Bay County class is proud to announce this year's project.
The class will be working with the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission staff and guests to renovate the outdoor courtyard in the men's wing of the facility.
The class chose this project in order to make an impact on those in need in our community and leave a legacy for years to come. The goal is to give the male guests of the mission, who are in a stressful time in their life and reaching out for help, a place to seek some peace and quiet, personal reflection and stress relief from the trials of this difficult time.
"We are very proud to be involved with an organization that has such an impact on our community." Says Tara Cox, Leadership Class project chair. "The work that is done at the mission is something that more people in Bay County should be aware of, take pride in and volunteer their time to help with. We feel that by giving this courtyard a face lift it will in turn lift the spirits of the men who reside there and are dealing with a difficult time in their life."
The funding for this project comes from the silent auction at the Bay Area Chamber Annual Meeting held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 as well as any in-kind donations (list available on the 2011 Leadership facebook page or by contacting Tara Cox at 989-415-7633) toward materials and/or labor that can be utilized during the renovation.
