Flash Mob Hopes to Raise Awareness for 'Relay For Life'
The Bay County Kickoff for the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life is April 6, 2011 at the State Theatre in downtown Bay City.
Brian Krause, Community Representative for the Great Lakes Region says the group hopes to generate $180,000 in donations this year.
To raise awareness for the upcoming April Kickoff, "Bragiel Bunch" Team Captain Missy Courier and the Mid-Michigan Gemz -- Tara Wieland's Dance/Gymnastics Group -- decided to hold a FLASH MOB in front of the State Theatre.
It was 35 degrees (not counting wind chill) when the music -- Cupid Shuffle, provided by Josh Sharrow & Shawn Doyle of Impact Sound -- started filling the air on Washington Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets.
Over 35 youngsters took part in the FLASH MOB -- all wearing their Relay for Life t-shirts -- that filled the street in front of local storefronts.
"The cold weather's not going to hold us back," smiled Tara Wieland as the music started.
