It was baseball, peanuts, popcorn, crackerjacks and big league chew that decorated The Grand ball room of the Doubletree Hotel in Bay City this past week.

Over 400 attended the Bay Regional Medical Center's (BRMC) Annual Charity Auction on Thursday, April 28, 2011.

The theme "Field of Dreams" was very appropriate in the planning for a state-of-the-art oncology treatment center for outpatient patients in need of medical infusion and chemotherapy.

According to Keith Markstrom, Director of Bay Medical Foundation, approximately $60,000 in proceeds were raised. The money is earmarked for the new comprehensive Cancer Care Facility BRMC is planning on constructing on the west campus. This facility will offer the only one-stop location for diagnostics and treatment in the Greater Bay Region. What a "Hit" for the community!.

Markstrom said, "We are once again grateful to the community, our sponsors and employees of Bay Regional Medical Center, Bay Special Care Hospital and Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice for the overwhelming support of this event."

UPCOMING:
  • May 9-13, 2011 is National Hospital Week and the Great Escapes Social Committee of BRMC is coordinating Hospital Bed races on Tuesday, May 10 at 12:30 p.m. in front of the medical center.
Fourteen teams of five employees each will compete for bragging rights.

  • Thursday, May 12, 2011 the new results of the Foundation's 2010 campaign for Education & Technology will be demonstrated to employees throughout the day, and for the public from 4 to 6 p.m. This is the opening of the Simulation Teaching and Learning Lab using a high-tech wireless manikin that can be programmed to simulate medical conditions.
