Banker Ann Lingle Bay Future Head, Former State Rep. Jeff Mayes Joins Board

Bay Future, Inc. has announced the election of Ann Lingle, Senior Vice President for Independent Bank as chairperson.

Ms. Lingle has been a board member since Bay Future, Inc. was formed in 2004. She also has served as a member of the executive committee as Secretary/Treasurer.

"She has been extremely active in our community as well as within the organization for a number of years" said Mike Seward, She has served on the board since the beginning of the organization and we are confident that she will continue to be a great leader and strong asset in her new role as chairperson," said Mike Seward,President and CEO of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Vice-Chairman of the board for Bay Future.

Jeff Mayes, Community Services Area Manager for Consumers Energy, was elected to the Bay Future board of directors seat reserved for public utilities.

"Jeff has always been a strong supporter of our organization and was instrumental in its founding back in 2004. His familiarity with Bay Future as well as his expertise and positive energy will continue to pay dividends now and into the future," said Magen Trask, Interim President.

The seat was previously held by Tom Begin of Consumers Energy, who resigned from the Bay Future board recently when his geographical coverage area with Consumers Energy was changed and he no longer covered Bay County.

"My time on the Bay Future, Inc. Board of Directors the past few years has been phenomenal and it is with a heavy heart that I resign my seat and my position as board chairman," Begin said in a letter to the executive board.

In addition to her affiliation with Bay Future, Inc., Lingle is involved with the United Way of Bay County, Rotary Club and Junior Achievement. Lingle has also sat on boards for the Kantzler Foundation, Bay City EDC and the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
