Pine Ridge Cemetery Gets Long-Awaited Michigan Historic Designation
Rotary Club of Bay City Provides Funding for Signage, Improvements

The cemetery dates to 1858 when it was established by Judge James Birney, lieutenant governor of Michigan in 1860. It is the burial ground for Judge Birney's family and more than 150 Civil War veterans and is the location of a Grand Army of the Republic monument.
