ABOUT Nathan Weidner Foundation :
The Nathan Weidner Foundation was established in 1995 in memory of Nathan Weidner.
Founded to honor his memory and heart for others, the Nathan Weidner Foundation has several
key objectives.
First, the Nathan Weidner Foundation provides scholarships for the financially challenged youth
in our community. To date, the Foundation has awarded over 100 scholarships to Delta College and hope to
expand our scholarship program to four-year institutions.
Second, through the Nathan Weidner Children's Advocacy Center, the Nathan Weidner
Foundation provides assistance for the abused and neglected children in our community.
The
Nathan Weidner Children's Advocacy Center, located at 715 N. Euclid Avenue, Bay City,
Michigan, aids approximately 2000 abused children each year. The public is invited to visit this
facility to see work directed at reducing the effects of the trauma these abused children have
experienced.
Third, the Nathan Weidner Foundation desires to build a home to shelter and aid neglected and
abused children. This long-term dream began in 1995. Thanks to generous gifts of our donors,
this dream is getting increasingly closer to becoming reality.
During August of each year, the Nathan Weidner Foundation sponsors a Chicken BBQ.
This
event features a great family picnic atmosphere and culminates our fundraising efforts from
several months before the event. Raffles, door prizes, rides, games, entertainment and activities
for children and adults are just some of the many activities which features a fabulous charcoal
BBQ chicken dinner with all the trimmings.
