Monday, August 1, 2011 marked the 20th Annual Robert C. Prophater,Sr.,MD - 'GOLF FOR LIFE CLASSIC' Presented by the Bay Medical Foundation.

Golf For Life not only raises funds for a worthy cause, it has gained the reputation of being the number one golf tournament in our area. The event is traditionally held at the Bay City Country Club.

Two scramble tee times starting at 8:00am and 1:00pm, included Continental Breakfast, hydration tents, lunch tent and at days end, appetizers and cocktails served in the upper level with dinner following.

Chairman, Doctor Mark Komorowski, said, "The Event has become more of a family reunion. People understand the mission of the event and that it always gives back to the community. This year the funds will go to the anticipated cancer center that will be located at the West Campus."

Jim Sharrard, Bay Regional Medical Center, Committee Member, said, "It's impressive to see the community (in force) to come out and support the Robert C. Prophater Golf for Life Classic."

Keith Markstrom, Director Bay Medical Foundation, said, "We are extremely grateful of the support of the community for this year's 20th anniversary of the Golf for Life Classic. This is another sold out event"

Markstrom continued, "We have raised nearly a million dollars in the history of this golf outing, for a variety of health care needs in the Greater Bay Area."

"The new Cancer Center -- which is the beneficiary of this year's event -- will make cancer treatments more accessable to the community," Markstrom said.
