The final concert of the summer season for the Bay Art's Council Wednesday in the Park series was a big hit. Phil Dirt and the Dozers performed to another lively crowd at the Wenona Park Bandshell in downtown Bay City.

Matt Reid, the manager of the Bay Art's Council presented awards to many of the volunteers who helped to make 2011 a great season. Although the concerts are free, the volunteers pass around boxes for donations to help compensate the entertainment and pay for their lodging and transportation while in town. This year they raised almost $5,000 which will help to keep the concerts free again next year.

The weather gave the crowd a break this week with temperatures dropping into the mid 80's. Previous Wednesday temperatures hovered between 90 and 100 degrees.

The crowd was electric from the first song. The floor was constantly full of dancers, hula-hoopers and roller skaters of all ages.

Keep your eye out in June of 2012 for the another round of free concerts every Wednesday in Wenona Park.

Barb Gradowski and Sue Gerhardt PoBanz watched the show along with about 150 members of Bay City Central's class of 1961. The concert was just one of five days of celebrating their fifty year reunion.

The crowd didn't need coaxing to dance for this show.

Oldies but goodies were the main musical attraction.
