The Return of the Bay Area Chamber's Eye Opener

It was the first Eye Opener Breakfast of the season! Mike Seward, (Right) welcomed everyone back from the summer and of course with the traditional: "GOOD MORNING BAY CITY!"

Dr. Jean Goodnow, President, Delta College was guest speaker at The Bay Area Chamber Eye Opener Breakfast, Tuesday, September 13, 2011, held at 7:30 am at Bay Valley Resort.

This year Delta College celebrates 50 years. They opened in September of 1961. Goodnow, said, "The tuition back then was $8.00 per credit our, we had 2,633 students."

Goodnow, said, "Sixty-three percent of Delta graduates live in Bay, Midland or Saginaw counties and 87 percent live in Michigan." Goodnow, added, And 1 in 8 local residents have recently taken a class at Delta."

Studies show that Delta's economic impact is more than $385 million each year. Goodnow said, "We are thankful for the great partnerships we have and from the support from everyone who make it possible."

An Open House will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Tour the new sculptor walk that includes 16 sculptures and a water fountain.

Premier Sponsors of the 2011 Eye Opener Breakfast Series were Covenant HealthCare, Dow Corning Corp. & Financial Edge Community CU.

Chamber members who were unable to attend, could listen on www.LastChoiceCountry.com who were streaming live and also ran the sound for the breakfast program.

Chamber members, enjoyed a delicious breakfast and reconnected and networked with fellow members.

Alice Gerard, Chair person for the Chamber, introduced and welcomed new Chamber members that included, Superior Custom Computers located at 3151 Shillair Drive in Bay City. And also The Chris Eby Agency Farm Bureau Insurance located at 702 Midland Road, in Auburn.
