Over 65 businesses will share a $70,946 premium dividend thanks to safe work practices and their participation in a workers compensation group dividend program available through the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
The dividend amount returned is based on each participant's premium costs and range from $22 to over $8,000, with an average dividend of over $1,023, reported Michael Seward, president of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to dividend opportunities, the Bay Area Chamber group dividend program offers participating businesses a five-percent discount on their workers compensation insurance premium rates.
While keeping people healthy and injury-free is vital in its own right, it is also an important factor in the ability to earn a dividend. Safety at work leads to fewer injuries and fewer workers compensation claims.
Members can expect to receive checks from their agents at the end of November/early December.
