"He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." (Lk 1:32-33)
The angel predicts a wonderful future for Mary's son. What the angel said was true, but there was a lot more that the angel didn't tell her.
After all, Mary is told that Jesus would be given the throne of David his father and would rule the house of Jacob. But when Jesus conducted his public ministry, a lot of important leadership people of the Jewish religion did not accept him. Eventually, he would be arrested, tortured and put to death on the cross.
Mary could have said, "Nobody told me about that." Have there been some things in your life that didn't work out the way you expected? Job, Health, Marriage ?
Mary understands. That's probably one important reason why Mary is so well loved. She understands, but she also encourages through her example. Even if things do not turn out as you think they should have or as expected or even if they turned out very badly.
You know how Mary's story ended, it's a beautiful story. If you stay with the Lord and keep God in your life, whatever is happening with you can have a wonderful ending.
