'Nerd Con 1' Gaming Tournament being Held at Bay City Mall

NERD CON 1, is a gaming tournament being held on January 14, 15, 2012 at The Bay City Mall.
Gaming event presented by OneNerdNation, which is a group of individuals uniting together to celebrate their passions, being a positive force in the community, creating original content and raising money for 'Operation Smile' and The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.
OneNerdNation was created by a local 25 year old and videographer, Sean Connelly, (Right) with the help of John Bellsmith, Jesse Fisher, Ben Wieland and Steve Klida.The Group holds charity events in the form of instructional workshops, gaming tournaments, talent competitions, obstacle courses, and more. OneNerdNation has sent out an open invitation to all people who have a passion that they celebrate to enlist in the Nerd Army.
The upcoming NerdCon1 event promises to be the first of many events that focuses the passions of nerds everywhere to do something good for their community.
The gaming tournament will include (video games) Top Halo, Call of Duty, Madden Football, Street Fighter, Gears of War, Battle Field 3, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros. and more.
Connelly, said "One of our main focuses is getting the youth involved and giving back to the community. Every dollar in proceeds will go to 'Operation Smile' and The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission Bay City. Event Sponsored by Noon Optimist Club, Bay City.
Event will be located in the Sears Wing of the Bay City Mall.
Cost is $5.00 to enter one tournament or $20 to enter all tournaments. Event for all ages, for anyone under 17 must sign a waiver form. 1st place is a Cash Prize and other prizes include gift cards from local restaurants.
Connelly is also organizing a scavenger hunt called "Iron Nerd" including 5 random challenges. Cost is $5 per person, with teams of two.
