BAY AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

Applications for grants through the Bay Area Community Foundation are now available. Non-profit501(c)(3) organizations, educational institutions, and government entities in Bay and Arenac Counties are eligible to apply. Grant applications, guidelines, procedures and information on funding priorities, can be found on the Bay Area Community Foundation's website, www.bayfoundation.org.

Alzheimer's Fund will accept grant applications for Bay County projects and programs that enhance the quality of life for Alzheimer's patients and families. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Arenac County Endowment Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs which impact Arenac County. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Jeffery Tenbusch, jefferyt@bayfoundation.org.

Beautification Endowment Fund supports beautification projects/programs that have the highest impact in Bay County.The application deadline is April 16, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Civic League Endowment Fund will accept grant applications up to $1000 for organizations, operating in Bay County who provide services to women, children and families. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland,lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Community Initiative Fund (General Unrestricted) will accept grant applications from Bay County nonprofit organizations. Examples of past grant areas are, but not limited to: arts and culture, education, environment, recreation, human services, and health and wellness. The applications deadline is March 1, 2012. Dow Corning Donor Advised Fund will accept applications for grants which improve scientific literacy through increased access to math, science & technology education; improve vitality and quality of life in Bay or Arenac County; and/or improve awareness and increase utilization of sustainable, innovative technologies. Energy Fund supports energy efficient projects/programs and education efforts related to projects/programs that involve energy efficiency and technology.The application deadline is April 16, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Environment Fund supports efforts to educate and engage citizens; evaluate, protect, and improve natural areas and resources; and build healthy sustainable communities.The application deadline is April 16, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Health Initiative Fund - Arenac County will accept grant applications for projects and programs that benefit the health and wellness or Arenac County residents.The application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Jeffery Tenbusch, jefferyt@bayfoundation.org.

McGillivray Saginaw River Improvement Fund will accept grant applications for projects which will result in permanent physical improvement of the Saginaw Riverfront in Bay County. Application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Northern Bay County Endowment Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs in Northern Bay County. Grants are only awarded to local nonprofit whose programs impact Northern Bay County. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Oscar P. & Louise H. Osthelder Advisory Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs which benefit Bay County. Grants in the past have included but not limited to large bricks and mortar type projects. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. Saginaw Bay Watershed Restoration Fund supports environmental projects, water quality improvement projects, watershed plan development, and capacity-building throughout the Watershed.The application deadline is April 16, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Squires Foundation will accept grant applications for organizations with programs that benefit children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities that reside in Bay County. The applications deadline is April 1, 2012. For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) will accept grant applications to fund projects that directly benefit the youth (18 and under) of Bay County. Previous grants were given to projects that improved youth's quality of life through health, safety, education, and recreation. Grant applications are not limited to these categories. Since 1982, the Bay Area Community Foundation has invested over $16 million in Bay and Arenac Counties through grants to non-profit organizations. The Bay Area Community Foundation seeks to fund projects that improve the quality of life in the Bay and Arenac area.

The Bay Area Community Foundation is a community based, philanthropic organization working to improve the quality of life in the Bay County area. The Foundation's mission is to fulfill a wide array of donors' charitable wishes throughout Bay and Arenac Counties by building permanent endowment funds and serving as a leader for community improvement through effective grant making and collaboration.
