The Opening reception for "Artificial Influence" an exhibit by Paolo Pedini, recently took place at Studio 23 in Downtown Bay City.

Exhibit viewing hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays and Noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays through March 3

Pedini's mission is to build bridges between art and design, and not be hesitant to explore the similarities that exist between the two disciplines.

There are principles that art and design share, such as color, shape, texture, lighting, balance symmetry, and composition. Pedini is very aware of those similarities and nuances. Primary colors show through Pedini's work often; colors like red, yellow and blue are the colors that most people start with in life in the form of children's toys or coloring crayons.

"The most useful tool that I use to create an interesting piece of work is composition." Pedini Said "It is an often overlooked aspect of design. Placing a figure or and object in a composition where much of it is laying outside of the viewing surface creates tension and mystery." Pedini continued.
