Start with the Bay County Humane Society. Stir in several different rescue organizations from Bay City to Midland and Sebewaing. Add caring supporters such as Soldan's and Graff Chevrolet and you have the recipe for giving a chance to adoptable pets looking for a "fur ever" home.

According to Mario Guerrero, Board Member of the Bay County Humane Society, "It was 'Save the Earth' day, so we wanted to 'Save a Pet' too".

Thanks to an animal loving Manager at Graff Chevrolet, Lisa Kusey-Rechsteiner, who offered the needed space for an adoption event such as this, the BCHS was able to bring in several different rescue organizations from around Mid-Michigan and many adoptable pets.

Mario remarked, "Lisa does a lot for the community and Soldan's Feed and Supplies also helped out with cages and give-aways." He added, "We are currently planning adoption events at the Bay City Mall and the Delta College Planetarium in Downtown Bay City, which will be coming soon."

The Bay City Mall event 'Cat Photo Contest & Cat Adoptathon' is May 12, 2012. Hooligan's Food & Spirits have also teamed up with BCHS for a 'Jack of Hearts Progressive Raffle' which started in April.

Tickets can be purchased at Hooligan's, located at 3022 N. Water St., Bay City, MI. For more information on upcoming events and how to get involved with the Bay County Humane Society, check out their website at:
