Hi There Fellow Fisherman, Captain Andy here with this week's Fishing Report
Walleye action is starting to take off once again out on the Saginaw bay. The wind has finally subsided and you can get out and do some trolling in less than 6 footers. I've been hearing good reports from Linwood all the way up to AuGres pulling stick baits like Bombers, Rapalas, and Reef Runners in 10 to 16 feet of water. There are some anglers pulling crawlers as well and having good success but with the water temps still being a little cool the troll has been a little slower than normal.
Salmon action has taken off quite well over on Lake Michigan as well as Lake Huron. Most of the reports coming from the west side have been deeper than 100 feet of water and there have been some big fish taken already. Over here the same type of spring program of trolling along shore in less than 40 feet has been steady with a mixed bag of lakers, atlantics, steelhead, and coho. Keep an eye on the wind and weather patterns because that will change the water temp quickly might move those fish in a matter of just a few hours.
Trout and walleye fishing is open in the rivers once again the weather is starting to come around so get your honey-doos done and gear up for this fishing season. New merchandise is arriving daily and the fish are biting.
