East Bank Market (EBM) - at Unity Park - began its summer season with a bang Saturday, May 12th, 2012 in Downtown Bay City.

Literally . . . as early morning thunderstorms rumbled overhead.

Although skies were ominous earlier in the morning and thunder and lightning threatened to ruin the opening day of the Market, skies cleared enough to carry on as the day progressed.

Downtown Bay City was bustling Saturday. Downtown Divas weekend was a perfect time for EBM to take advantage of steady streams of foot traffic to the outdoor marketplace.

EBM's Organizer, Darraugh Opelski, remarked, "I was really worried about the weather, but it all turned ok in the end".

The outdoor marketplace offers a variety of art, handmade goods, food, entertainment and other fun as well as funky goods and services.

As their Facebook page states it's, "Not an art fair. Not a farmers market. Not a flea market.... East Bank Market!"

The market will run on numerous dates thru September 20th. To become involved or for more info, check them out on Facebook at 'East Bank Market (at Unity Park)' or their website at info@eastbankmarket.com

Unity Park is located between Mulligan's Pub and Uptown Girl on Center Ave. in Bay City, MI.
Directly across from Delta Planetarium.

This was a fantastic way to begin East Bank Market's second season! The vendors & visitors who came out early to join us, in spite of the unexpected storm, made it obvious that EBM is something special & worth checking out... no matter the weather! Thank you to all who took part.
