So, what's on my agenda this weekend? Well, let's see...
Summer festivals are definitely winding down, but there's still the
Linwood Pickle Festival which goes from Friday, August 17 to Sunday, August 19, 2012.
Located at Bi-Centennial park, off of E. Linwood Rd., this festival celebrates its 36th year of fun. For a full list of activities and entertainment, visit their website at:

Thursday nights tend to be a little quieter on the nightlife scene in Bay City, but on occasion I do like to head over to
Old City Hall Restaurant in the heart of Downtown Bay City, for their Thursday drink special.
Made in Michigan draft beers are 1/2 off from 5pm-9pm. Pairing one with their delicious appetizers or dinner, some good company, and their impeccable service, always makes for a great night.
The golfing in Michigan has been wonderful this summer and I will be taking out my clubs and joining the
Energize Bay Area Young Professionals for an evening of fun on Friday, August 17th at 5pm. YPN's will take to the course at the
Bay City Country Club, located at 7225 S Three Mile Rd., Bay City, MI.
As of this writing, there were still a few team spots available for the outing known as the "Best Non-Golfer Golf Outing". In its 4th year, this 9 hole scramble is for anyone who enjoys golf, relaxed business networking and a great time. For info, contact the Bay Area Chamber at (989) 893-4567.
Saturday, I'll be hitting the road with a friend as we head to downtown Grand Rapids, along with approximately 10,000 other people, for the
City Lights Music Festival. Held in Calder Plaza, this growing festival is sure to please lovers of the Electronic Dance Music and techno scene.
The festival runs Friday, August 17th and Saturday, August 18th. For information and/or tickets, visit their website at:

If you are in town Saturday and looking for a family activity, check out
Community Fun Day at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 3360 E. Midland Rd., Bay City, MI.
From noon-5p there will fun for the whole family. Vendors, crafters, food, games and bouncies. $5 for admission to the bounce houses.
Saturday night,
The KMJ Band (aka Kahoutek Metropolis Joke Band) will hit the stage at BeMo's on S. Madison in Bay City, MI. The KMJ Band has been around since the early 70's and draw their musical influence from such bands as Iggy Pop, BB King, Cream, The Dictators, The Who, Edgar Winter, MC5 and Government Mule, to name just a few. For fans of great old school rock and roll, BeMo's will be the place to be.
There's definitely a lot of good music and entertainment to check out this weekend in Bay City and beyond, so be sure to get out there and get yourself some fun!
