So, what's on my agenda this weekend. Well, let's see...
It's a rather quiet weekend around Bay City, as many head north for the last weekend of summer. But, there are always fun things to do if you can be creative.
Thursday will be a good night to enjoy the musical stylings of Matt de Heus. A local favorite, he will be playing at
World Cafe on the corner of Saginaw and Center Ave.
Known for his indie and popular sets, Matt will be performing from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Get there early to get a table and to enjoy a delicious dinner first. Their wine selection is great and the atmosphere cozy.
Friday or Saturday, if the weather forecast at this writing holds true, will be a great time for a bike ride to
Buoy 18 for a game of putt-putt. Then maybe a nice coast along the Riverwalk.
A stop over at
Goodrich Bay City 8 (in the Bay City Mall) for a movie may be just what I'm looking for on a quiet weekend. I haven't been to a show in ages, but
'Hope Springs' may be my flick of choice. Steve Carrell and Meryl Streep are two actors that generally deliver and I am curious to see if they do on this one.
Also, not to forget to put on my agenda is
Madame Devz Gypsy Wagon playing at
Tiz-It in Midland. Located at 4562 N. Eastman Rd, Madame Devs show begins at 8:30pm.
The weekend will not be complete until I sample one of
Holy Scooops banana splits. They are located within
Meats & Moore on Wenona St. near Salzburg Ave.
Touting their creation as the biggest banana split in the area, I may just take a walk over and try one out for myself. The diet can start Monday.
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!
