"Learn More About Mental Illness . . . The First Step to Stomping Out Stigma" is the final presentation in our "Community Forum" Series.
 

Bay City, Michigan - Crossroads Center for Recovery will present "Learn More About Mental Illness . . . The First Step to Stomping Out Stigma." This event will take place at the Dow Bay Area Family Y, located at 225 Washington Avenue, Bay City, Michigan on Tuesday, September 25th from 1~6 p.m.

The featured speaker will be Community Educator Malkia Maisha Newman of the Community Network Services Anti-Stigma Program.

Crossroads Center for Recovery is proud to bring The CNS Anti-Stigma Team to the Dow Bay Area Family Y for the first time. Since its inception in 2005, the Community Educators of the CNS Anti-Stigma Program have reached over 40,000 people all over the United States and also Nova Scotia, Canada with their message of recovery and hope.

With a unique blend of music and prose, Malkia's presentation will educate and entertain you at the same time. The presentation will be offered at 1 p.m., 3 p.m and 5 p.m. There will also be an opportunity for individuals who have lived experience with a mental health challenge to share their recovery story after each presentation.

"Learn More About Mental Illness . . . The First Step to Stomping Out Stigma" is the final presentation in our "Community Forum" Series. Crossroads would like to take this opportunity to invite local organizations to come together to support us in creating a community that understands and accepts individuals living with mental illness.
